Sabapathy Tirupathi Ramana started learning the Carnatic flute in the Singapore Indian Fine Arts Society (SIFAS) at age seven. He completed SIFAS's first ever flute Arangetram in 2016, obtaining a Diploma in Carnatic Flute under the tutelage of Sri V. K. Sivakumar. Ramana also had the unique opportunity of learning under late flute maestro Sangeetha Kalanidhi Dr. N. Ramani in 2012. Ramana has won several competitions and has performed on multiple occasions as part of orchestras and classical dance programs, in addition to his solo concerts, with programs in Kalakshetra, Bangalore, Thiruvananthapuram, and London, to name a few. Ramana is currently learning further complex nuances of the flute under world-renowned Carnatic flute maestro Sri Shashank Subramanyam. Ramana is also the first artiste to introduce the double bass Carnatic flute outside of India.
